It is a lovely
location - very convenient to the shops and restaurants
- and the town itself was perfect for our young
man who adored the beach and exploring the Citadel
and the Rue Obscura. The flat itself was perfect
for the three of us and had everything we could
have thought to need during our stay. I think
our biggest issue was finding a parking spot for
our car on the day of our arrival, but once that
was sorted out and we returned the rental in favor
of the local bus lines we had a wonderful time
in Villefranche and environs.
I must also compliment
you on the binder of household tips in the flat.
We found it quite useful.

The
apartment is fantastically located on the doorstep
of all the important places you require whilst holidaying
in South if France. Literally around the corner
were quaint little restaurants, boulangerie and
a little supermarket. However, the way the apartment
is positioned in such a way that it is rare you
hear any noise apart from the birds and the fantastic
noise of the hand operated church bells. The beach,
harbour and train station are so close too. The
citadel is just around the corner and we had a great
time sitting at the picnic table whilst overlooking
the harbour feasting on our picnic and watching
the boating world go by. The apartment is clean
and has all the little extras that you only really
expect to get at home (I couldn't believe that we
had too many clothes hangers!). The apartment has
a quaint little balcony with side views of the harbour
and from the bedroom window there are beautiful
orange trees. A must whilst being in gorgeous Villefranche
is to walk over to the billionaires paradise of
Cap Ferrat, we took a 10 mile walk around the Cap
and it is stunning. We hired a car, but the transport
is great so not necessary, but great to see less
well known places on the Riviera. If you fancy going
over to Italy for the day, that's worthwhile too,
we went to a traditional town called Ventimiglia
on market day and it was great to wander around
the fantastic cheese and produce stalls. I have
already been back on this website to check when
I can book the apartment again.

Just
back from my fifth visit to this well-appointed
third floor flat in
the delightful old town of Villefranche, and another
soaking in the
atmosphere. From the main bedroom, one looks out
onto an enormous fruit tree; are the ripening fruit
limes? or lemons? And beyond, one sees up to the
walled roads, palm trees, many coloured houses,
built against the hillside and beyond to a high
rocky skyline. From the second bedroom, a view in
the evening of the beautiful floodlit church bell
tower, and the sound of its
chimes. Sitting on the little balcony, what a view
down past 6-8 tall
houses, colour- washed in ochres, yellows or rust-red,with
their green shuttered windows and orange- red rooftiles;
just behind the houses, the sparkle of the sea,
usually with a yacht at anchor, or a canoe gliding
by. Only 10 minutes walk from the flat!
This old town is made for all kinds of art opportunities;
pack a camera, to
take home memories of trompe l'oeil, suddenly before
one 3 stories high
on the end of a house, or a tiny cat on its own
windowsill; or a series of
wonderful, all different doors, some really ancient,
as one walks up or down the
shallow grey stone steps; sea scapes everywhere;
or the palm trees, red and
purple bourganvillea, hibiscus, many kinds of cactus.
Everywhere there are opportunities for coffee, pastries,
crepes, wine
and beer, and retail therapy, both in the shops
and delightful markets.
Part of a holiday must be enjoying a choice of different
breads, cheeses
and wines, and stretching out for a baking on the
shore after an
exhilarating dip in the sea.
Yes, along
with your suncream, do pack that camera, and perhaps
a sketch
pad and paint box. Mrs

Stayed in the
Apartment for the Grand Depart of the Tour de
France in Monaco this year. It is a fantastic
base to explore the mountains on your bike (If
you like the hills). Lance Armstrong used to live
close to Nice for training and he knows a thing
or two. A great route up the Col D'Eze to the
Col Turbie (Great Tart Tatin in the Cafe at the
top), over the Col D'Madone and down into Monaco
for a easy ride along the coast. Lots of other
good cycling routes further inland with lots more
climbing. Then back to Villefranche to have a
few beers relaxing in one of the many bars and
restaurants.

The apartment is set up
well with all the essentials as well as little
touches that make things easier, cleaning stuff
and insect repellent readily available, spare
batteries for the remote and instructions for
use of the cooker and washing machine were helpful.
It was also good to have a selection of DVDs,
crossword puzzles and books to read.
We had a lovely holiday,
it is beautiful place to visit and easy access
via bus to other places. The bus service is excellent
and Villefranche is on the route for lots of places.
I also found Ian’s
map (one of the guests has created his own map
of the area which is in the folder in the apartment)
and guide useful, I did a couple of his walks
as outlined on the map and it also showed the
main bus routes, we did a couple of his ticked
highlights too!
We sat
out on the balcony having breakfast each morning
and evening planning our days out and enjoying
the sun.

We
loved staying in this beautiful rustic well-equipped
family run French apartment, filled with so many
homely touches, particularly useful on rainy days,
such as books, DVDs and magazines. The rooms are
beautifully decorated to reflect the area and the
balcony means alfresco meals are possible with a
view of the Med. The apartment is right in the middle
of an ancient quarter of the town, very close to
the harbour and within a stones throw from numerous
shops, superb restaurants and the most beautiful
harbour on the Med.Just head off down any alley
and see what hidden treasures await you.

Thank you for allowing us to stay with you. Villefranche
truly is a slice of heaven on earth. The atmosphere
in the old town is magical with amazing views
of the secluded bay as close as your private balcony,
yet within 15 minutes you can be lying on a secluded
beach in Antibes soaking up the sun or eating
at a 5 star restaurants in Monaco or Nice. We
so look forward to coming to stay with you again
in December to discover Villefranche all over
again at a different time on year.
Thank you again
for hospitality.

We have stayed at the apartment 4 times now
and have always enjoyed our
time there. The location is perfect and makes you
feel part of the Villefranche
life. We spend many lazy afternoons on the sunny
balcony sampling wine
and people watching. It also has superb views of
all of Villefranche from
the hills to the harbour. The second bedroom of
the apartment has also come in handy for my daughter's
surprise visits! The apartment is also ideally located
if you wish to venture further into Monaco, Nice
and Italy. The bus stop and
train station are only a 10 mins walk. It is also
only 30 mins from Nice
Airport on the bus. The bars and restaurants of
Villefranche are on the door step. The apartment
is very clean, well maintained and nicely furnished.
I would
recommend the apartment to anyone thinking of visting
Villefranche and
the surrounding area. We are looking forward to
our next stay there.'

Fantastically
located 2 bedroomed apartment, all facilities you
need for a great holiday. Everything has been thought
of and is child friendly with washing machine, cooking
utensils and microwave. Our children, aged 3 1/2
years and 2 years had a fantastic time on the land
train and visiting the beaches, whilst us adults
enjoyed the fabulous restaurants, wines and Monaco!
Even though the apartment is situated right in the
heart of the restaurant area we never heard any
excessive noise.Would highly recommend this property
for a visit to ville franche.
