GETTING TO THE APARTMENT
From Nice airport, you can get to Villefranche by hiring a taxi, taking a bus or a train, or renting a car.
TAXI
Taking a taxi is the quickest and easiest with a journey time of around 20-30 minutes. This will cost approximately 60 Euros for four people. Ask for Villefranche Old Town (vielle ville) and ask to be taken to the entrance to the Old Town at the Citadel.
BUS
The bus from the airport is cheap and will take you to
the Nice bus station (about a 15-20 minute journey). If
you choose this option, take the Number 98 from either
Terminal 1 or 2. It is marked Nice centre
ville/gare routiere (bus station). The tickets
for the bus can be bought on board. Ask for a Passe un
Jour (a day ticket).
From there you can take the bus Number 100 to Villefranche. The
stop for this will be on the lighted display in the bus
station and will say Monaco/Menton. You
use the same ticket as you did on the
airport bus - you have to validate it in the machine on
the bus. Ask to be set down at “Villefranche
Octroi”.
You will know you are nearly there when you see the bay after Nice and a very big hotel called the Versailles.
BUS/TRAIN
Alternatively you can take the airport bus to Nice Ville
train station (five euros/person) and take the five minute
train ride directly to the Villefranche station. The
bus to Villefranche stops running at 7.50 pm and the
train around midnight. The bus does not start until 7
am and the train around 6am. The train/bus option is
not recommended if you're coming in on a very early flight.
From either the bus or train station in Villefranche
it is a relatively short walk to the apartment - we will
provide you with a map. The length of the bus/train
or bus/bus journey is variable depending on bus and train
schedules, but usually takes around 60 - 90 minutes.
When planning which option to take, just consider how much luggage you are carrying and the arrival time of your flight.
CAR RENTAL
The other option for reaching the apartment in Villefranche-sur-Mer is renting a car at the airport and driving there yourself. We recommend Europcar as the website is easy to use and they are good value.
